Welcome
Alford, a quaint market town on the cusp of the Lincolnshire Wolds—an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty—lies just 6 miles from Lincolnshire’s sandy coastline. This blend of natural landscapes offers an ideal setting for exploration.
The town of Alford bears traces of Roman occupation, succeeded by the Anglo Saxons and the Danes.
Rich in history, Alford’s significant events can be delved into at landmarks such as Alford Manor House, Alford Corn Exchange, and St Wilfrid’s Church, as well as throughout the town. Moreover, Alford boasts one of the rare five-sailed windmills remaining in the country.
The Five Sail Windmill is currently undergoing restoration and is due to be open again to the public in 2026/2027.
